I was talking with a friend this week, who is also very much
into marketing, and he asked me "...is your business fairly
slow for this time of year?" I said that it has been slower
than what it normally is (September being normally one
of the Best months for home biz opps). Then he asked me
a very interesting question. "Do you think the Y2K scare
could be affecting things? You know, folks thinking that if
they build a downline that the computer would just lose it
anyway!"
I told him that I had not thought of that, but it would not
surprise me one bit. That is on folks minds these days. A
local grocery store, here in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma,
ran an ad this week telling you what items you had better
stock up on to be ready for Y2K. I guess many folks
think the world is coming to an end then, or that we are
going into another depression.
I have said all along, that the way people react to the situation
is going to be worse than the actual problem. I heard a man
at Walmart ask, "are these batteries ready for 2000?". Now
that is taking paranoid to an all new level. Will there be some
glitches? Sure! Will it be the end of the world? NO! (remember
the bible reads that it would come at a time when people were
not expecting it. Too many folks are looking for a total end to
the world in 2000)
WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BE TOO CONCERNED
OK, here is the deal, plain and to the point. If a computer
reads the date as 1900 instead of 2000, does that mean
the machine will automatically delete entire databases? NO.
What if the machine won't boot up? If that is a problem, the
machine level language can be altered to run. Let's face it,
the data is in there, and there WILL be backups. In
many cases, backups of backups. Databases will not be
lost! I mean, come on! I once knew of a computer that
was in a fire and melted. Recovery experts were still able
to successfully get the data off of the hard drive.
OK, so if Y2K causes your home or office to burn down,
maybe you won't be able to afford the data recovery experts.
But you can bet that your MLM company, bank, insurance,
mortgage or any other big business is going to be able to afford
to recover the info. You can count on that!
If the processor in your heart monitor thinks it is 1900 it won't
shut down. Do you think they programed that micro to shut down
in certain years? Ridiculous! If your microwave or coffee maker
thinks we have gone back a century in time, do you think it will
really care? Do you really think the coffee would taste any different?
Try to reassure your customers that you are not going anywhere.
Let them know that this is the BEST time to get involved with
your Biz Opp. Come 1-1-00, when the world is still in one
piece, then many folks will be ready to get going in a home biz.
Those who get in now, will have the jump on the New Years
(which is another historically excellent month for business)
crowd and the mad rush for success! Encourage them to beat
the crowd and get started now.
Relax, your MLM biz is not going anywhere. Your home office is
not going to melt down. Sure the computer glitches will be there,
but come 1900 or 2000, we will still be building our business here
at Kosoma!

You're the quarterback. It's first down and you're on your
own 20 yard line. In the huddle you call an e-zine ad
running play. You gain 6 sales. Now it's second down and
4. You throw a short banner pass to your tight end. You
gain 10 sales...First down!
Now, it's first down and 10 on your own 36 yard line.You
throw a newsgroup post pass to your wide receiver. You
gain 7 sales. The next play you throw an "opt in" mailing
list bomb. You gain 27 sales...First down!
Now it's first and 10 at your competition's 30 yard line.
The next play you get sacked and lose 4 sales because you
didn't offer a money back guarantee. Now, it's second and
14 at their 34 yard line. In the huddle you call a search
engine reverse play. You gain 18 sales...First down!
It's now first and 10 on your competitions 16 yard line.The
next play you throw a joint venture fly pass to your wide
