Here is a letter we received from one of our readers this week:
I would appreciate your feedback on the crop of downline cubs that are
springing up everywhere. The one single thing that has up to
this date
that has forced me to resist most of the MLM marketing organizations
has
been their forcing of the people who are building their organization
to
buy products on a monthly basis that they might not otherwise wish
to
buy. I have noticed those however coming out now that requires
a
one-time only payment of a certain amount of money and the rest relies
upon their recruiting efforts and I see that working, but I'd like
your
take on it. thank you so much for considering my request.

Nadine,
You bring up some interesting points and questions. I thought we
would address them in OIO this week. How's that?
First off, you mention that you don't like MLM companies that force
ones to "buy products on a monthly basis that they might not otherwise
wish to buy".
I would assume that you are talking about the so called "Auto Ship"
programs available from the various companies today. I can see and
understand where you are coming from with this. One thing though,
that I see and hear all the time from folks in MLM is, a hesitancy
to purchase company products on a regular basis. If you consider
the facts, maybe you will change your attitude about auto ship type
programs:
1) No Money is Made Unless Products or Services are Purchased.
This is a simple fact that folks often overlook. I can not count
the
times I have heard people say: "They are just trying to make money
off me." or, "that store (or shop) must double their money on
that item. You know they didn't pay that much for it!"
Folks seem to think it is a crime if a business makes money, yet
that is what all of us entrepreneurs are trying to do. And, the
simple truth is - NO ONE MAKES A DIME UNTIL THERE
IS A SALE!
2) Auto ship plans Help More Folks Stay Active,
and it also Ensures You a Check.
I can understand your concern about autoship plans. BUT, if you
ever build a large organization on an auto ship plan, you will grow
to LOVE IT! Some folks will love the products and order for the
rest of their lives. This ensures YOU residual income. Would it
be fair if you did not order a thing, and you got paid from ones
who did order?
That is why most companies require that you be on autoship
yourself for top commissions, or at least that you call in an
order by a certain date in the month. Autoship plans WILL
help you earn more money.
3) If you don't want, like or need the products
-
Find Another Company.
Nadine, I would not get involved with any company if I did
not like or desire what they were selling. If you feel like the
products will stack up on you, then you must not be planing
on using them.
Also, if you are going to be selling a product, unlike a service,
you had better have some on hand. Time has proven that the
distributor that has product on hand, will do much more
retail business, and will recruit more reps than ones who
keep no or very little product on hand.
We are not saying that you should load up your garage with
items, in fact that is called "Front loading" and is illegal in
most
states, but you do need some product on hand, if you plan on
showing them and/or selling them to anyone locally.
Many of us work the net, so the product on hand rule may
be slowly changing. But, once you are earning income online,
the local sales will come too as folks begin to wonder what
it is you are doing. They will be asking YOU what products
or services you are offering. Why not have a few extras on
hand. You might even build up some retail customers.
ONE TIME PAY PLANS
Next you mentioned one time pay plans. Our word of
caution here is BEWARE! We have yet to see any type
of one time pay plan last for years, as with MLM plans
that offer products or services. Let's face it, if you don't
ever have to pay again, sooner or latter, most folks are
going to run out of folks to talk to about it. Monthly
services or product purchases have proven MUCH
more successful in the long haul.
DOWNLINE BUILDING GROUPS
The problem we have with these type of programs is
that they tend to attract lazy people. Most of them
tell you that you can work it if you want to, or sit
back and wait for them to build it for you. That
really sounds good. It appeals to our greed and
laziness. Now if we all take them up on that and
go to the beach, who is going to be left to do the
work?
We have been investigating some companies who
offer to do all the work for you. So far, the results
have not even been worth reporting!
If you, or anyone of our readers have done well in a
program where they do most or all of the work for
you, please let us know. So far, we have not found
one that was really worth the cost. But, stay tuned
to OIO, as we are always looking. We put our
money on the line so our readers don't have to!
THE NET DIFFERENCE
Now there are some plans on the net, that really do help you
build a business. You still will have to do some work though.
With Free Affiliate programs, like Kosoma's, you could
actually build a downline Before you ever invest a dime.
This type of system is really more of an online marketing
tool that makes your job a lot easier. You may be able
to find ones that will even help to place folks under you,
many times as Free Affiliates, and then encourage them

the rules daily, so if you see a system you like, with
products you enjoy, by all means, give it your best
shot! Just don't be fooled into believing that you will
just have to kick back and wait for the checks to
arrive. If anything worked that well, none of us would
be working!
